The background, the history, and the "Bubba Bear" relationship with BestLife are expressed by Paul "Tiger" Baugh, President of BestLife International, Inc., and Sammi's Grandfather.
Following the successful Sammi's Best™ market introduction and growing consumer recognition of the brand, Mr. Benny Sims (the Agent for former NFL Coach and HBO commentator, Mr. Jerry Glanville) contacted BestLife International. The substance of the inquiry was to solicit financial support, help in sponsoring Coach Glanville's racecar at N.A.S.C.A.R. events. As such, this form of promotional activity was out of the question based on the size of the BestLife business; however, as Mr. Benny Sims was personally looking for improved soy-based alternatives to dairy products, he demonstrated considerable interest in the Sammi's Best™ product line. Accordingly, product samples were forwarded to Mr. Sims and importantly a new and faithful family of consumers was created for BestLife products. Mr. Sims over the years has related a number of health improving testimonials regarding several BestLife products and volunteered his time at several events helping promote Sammi's Best™. In 2004 Benny urged BestLife to help him with a project that promised to be worthwhile, and so Sammi and BestLife joined the Race Against Childhood Cancer with Bubba Bear.
With Benny Sims as the personality behind Bubba Bear (See: www.bubbabear.com), the well known and popular N.A.S.C.A.R. celebrity, a true partnership for promotional action was born between BestLife and Bubba Bear. While there are several unique and effective ways this relationship works, the primary "centerpiece" is in their mutual support for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Among the contributions through Bubba Bear, certain children being treated for cancer and other illness, arrangements are made to attend sporting events with Bubba Bear, including tours down pit row! When appropriate, Sammi's Best™ supplies Bubba Bear with samples for sale at specific events with all proceeds going directly to St. Jude. Bubba Bear is acknowledged for his ongoing financial support for St. Jude.
Bubba Bear says: "Look for "specially" marked packages of Sammi's Best™ for the Bubba Bear and St Jude Children's Research Hospital. BestLife actively supports Bubba Bear and the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and has provided us with authorization to print the following placard and message on specially marked packages ..."
Financial contributions are sent to St. Jude calculated on every specially marked package sold and shipped from the BestLife manufacturing facility.
